Current Favorite Podcasts

Of the list of habits that I formed throughout the pandemic, listening to podcasts has become my favorite.

I listen while I'm walking to an appointment, I listen while I’m doing my makeup, I listen when I'm cooking - it's great. I'm even thinking about starting my own but for the time being here are my favorites that I listen to weekly.

We Can Do Hard Things with Glennon Doyle

Where do I even start? I was first introduced to Glennon Doyle when I read Untamed and I don’t think this book could have come at a better time than March 2020. I 100% recommend reading the book (immediately) but the podcast is equally amazing. Each week Glennon, her wife Abby Wambach, and her sister Amanda Doyle discuss issues we all face but in such a real and beautiful way that difficult reflection becomes something that is shown (!!) and encouraged because WE can all do hard things. The community is incredible. Just listen.

Life with Marianna - Marianna Hewitt

Marianna is one of my favorite people to follow online. She’s genuine, has been in the beauty space for years and shares all of her tips with her followers. Also I love her brand, Summer Fridays and if you saw my Sephora post you know I love her lip butter balm and jet lag mask. Her podcast is equally fabulous. If you’re interested in fashion, beauty, influencer marketing, entrepreneurship, wellness, business etc this podcast is for you. I have found myself taking notes as I listen especially to this episode with Raissa Gerona from REVOLVE and this episode with Julianne Fraser from Dialogue New York. I have learned so much from Marianna (from photo editing tips to how to structure a pitch to a brand to work with them) and she shares it all in a way that makes you feel like you are friends.

Podcast Noor & Rep  - Noor Tagouri

I first found Noor through The Barneys Podcast (rip) when she interviewed another of my favorite people Elaine Welteroth about her book More Than Enough (read this also, it’s beautiful!). From that interview on I found and consumed pretty much every piece of work I could find from Noor. She is an award-winning journalist and producer and the way she approaches conversations is so intentional and aware of the gift of sharing someone’s story that you can’t help but listen in awe. Both of her previous series Podcast Noor and The Process opened my mind, stretched me, and left me wanting to continue to learn through her. Her latest series Rep began by exploring the misrepresentation of Muslims in US media and how this impacts American culture. From the show notes: “Rep is a thoughtful investigation of our beliefs and understandings and how they exist within the dynamic of politics, pop culture, and public opinion. This is a story about the stories we tell.” It just came out last week and the first episode shows a personal look into how Noor’s family was changed forever after the US ordered an air strike on Libya in 1986. I am patiently waiting the next episode as I want to go on this journey with her - her voice, her kindness, her wealth of knowledge whilst still being open to new ideas makes me want to join her and support her wherever she goes.

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I heard Jay speak at VOICES a few years ago and was struck by his story of becoming a monk. He somehow can make everyone around him (even me watching through a computer screen) feel like they are the only one he is speaking to. His voice is so kind and warm and he has such a beautiful way of sharing his purpose with the world. I have started adding in his podcast to my rotation and really love it.
